The new Octopia API integration brings several enhancements to your eDesk experience, improving order and message handling for Cdiscount and other Octopia marketplaces.

01. Benefits of the new Octopia API

The Octopia API brings improvements to streamline your support processes and enhance functionality. Here’s what you’ll gain:

Improved order management

  • Currently: All orders from Octopia marketplaces arrive through your Cdiscount channel(s).
  • With the new API: Orders and messages will flow into separate Octopia marketplace channels, allowing for clearer organization and faster responses.

Order tracking

  • Currently: Tracking is not available for Cdiscount orders.
  • With the new API: Tracking details will be displayed for orders, when available, directly on each marketplace channel.

Attachment support

  • Currently: Attachments are not supported for incoming messages.
  • With the new API: Both incoming and outgoing message attachments are supported, providing more flexibility and improving communication with customers.

02. Changes you’ll see in your eDesk account

Once the new Octopia API is active, you’ll notice new channels added to your account

Dedicated channels for each marketplace:

  • Currently if you connect to Cdiscount and sell on other Octopia marketplaces like OnBuy or Wish, orders from all Octopia marketplaces appear under your Cdiscount channel.
  • With the new API, each marketplace (e.g., Cdiscount, OnBuy, Wish) will have its own channel. Orders and messages will now flow into their respective marketplace channels, making it easier to manage and respond quickly.

03. How to connect to the new Octopia API

Connecting to the new Octopia API is straightforward. Here’s what you need to do:

  • If you already have your Octopia Seller ID in eDesk:

    • No action is required! Your new Octopia marketplace channels will automatically appear in your account, and new orders and messages will populate in these channels.
  • If you do not have your Octopia Seller ID in eDesk:

    • Adding your Seller ID is simple:
      1. Go to Settings > Channels in eDesk.
      2. Click on your Cdiscount channel.
      3. Select Cdiscount Information and enter your Seller ID in the designated field.
