Octopia provides online marketplace software for retailers, manufacturers, and wholesalers, supporting both B2C and B2B markets.

Connecting your Octopia accounts will allow your messages, orders and order information to flow directly into eDesk.

In eDesk, Octopia marketplaces are categorized into two types: Merchant marketplaces and Native marketplaces.

This helpfile will talk you through the different types of Octopia marketplaces and how to connect them to eDesk.

01 Octopia merchant marketplaces

Merchant marketplaces are independent e-commerce platforms supported by Octopia’s infrastructure. To onboard a merchant marketplace in eDesk, you must be both an Octopia customer and an active seller on that marketplace.

Merchant marketplaces that you can onboard in eDesk via Octopia are: Alltricks France, BHV France, Bricobe, Bricodepot Espagne, Bricotdepot Portugal, Bulevip Espagne, Carethy Espagne, Castorama, Cdon Suède, Cdon Finlande, Cdon Norvège, Cdon Danemark, Colizey France, Darty, Empik, Fnac France, Fruugo, Fyndiq (Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden), Joom France, Kingfisher, Leboncoin, Onbuy, Perfume's Club Espagne, Phone House España, Pigu. It, Praxis, Rakuten, Rue du Commerce France, Wish, Worten Portugal, Zoodmall UZ

02 Onboarding merchant marketplaces

  1. Go to the App Store and search for the Octopia tile under Marketplaces.
  2. The App page for Octopia provides an Overview of how the channel works with eDesk. Click Install App to go ahead and install your Octopia account.
  3. Select your Octopia marketplace from the list provided.                                                                                                                   Note: To onboard a merchant marketplace, you must be both an Octopia customer and an active seller on that specific marketplace. For instance, if you sell on OnBuy but do not use Octopia’s back-office for that marketplace, you will not be able to use this marketplace integration.
  4. You will be asked to enter your Octopia Seller ID. Go ahead and enter it here.                                                                      Note: If you need help getting your Seller ID, click here
  5. You will see the success page if the connection has worked correctly.
Note: Customers must onboard each marketplace separately to receive orders and messages from each distinct integration.

03 Octopia native marketplaces

Native marketplaces are powered directly by Octopia. The native marketplaces that can be integrated with eDesk are:  Alizeade,   Vertbaudet France,   Bebeboutik,    Ramsay France,   Europazon,   Marjane Maroc  & Cdiscount

Each of these marketplaces are onboarded separately to Octopia and integrated as an individual channel. However, you will need your Octopia Seller ID to onboard them. Click on the links above to be brought to the guide on how to onboard that specific channel into eDesk.

04 How the Octopia Integration Works

  • Orders: Pulled via the API for each marketplace.
  • Messages: Pulled via the API and organised by marketplace (previously, only Cdiscount messages were available). This means you don't have to add a separate email address for your messages.
  • Tracking: Tracking data is now pulled for each order (previously unavailable).
  • Attachments: Clients can now send and receive attachments in messages (previously unavailable).
