eDesk’s ChannelAdvisor app allows you to view order information from ChannelAdvisor & add notes on order-related tickets inside eDesk.


Before you start

 
  • You’ll need an Admin login to eDesk. If you don’t have an Admin login, you can request one from an Admin user within your business.
 
  • You'll need a ChannelAdvisor account. To find out how to create one, click here.
 

01 How to connect ChannelAdvisor in eDesk?

  1. Go to the App Store and click the ChannelAdvisor tile. 

  2. The App Store page for ChannelAdvisor provides an Overview of how the channel works with eDesk, and an Installed Channels tab will also be shown if you already have an app for a ChannelAdvisor account installed. Click Install App to go ahead and install a new ChannelAdvisor account.

  3. The Integrations page in Mailbox Settings is opened. Select ChannelAdvisor and you will be asked to enter your ChannelAdvisor Profile ID.

  4. You will be redirected to your ChannelAdvisor account.

02 Retrieving your ChannelAdvisor Profile ID

To connect ChannelAdvisor and eDesk, you will be asked to enter your ChannelAdvisor Profile ID. Follow the steps below to easily retrieve it:

  1. Log into your ChannelAdvisor account.

  2. Go to My Account → Developer Network → Account Authorizations.

  3. On the Developer Authorizations page, click on the [+] next to Account List to expand your list of available accounts.

  4. Find the Profile ID for the desired account. Copy-and-paste the Profile ID into eDesk for the desired channels. Hit Save.

  5.  Return to the Developer Authorizations page of Channel Advisor. Under the Account List, find the newly created authorization. Under the Actions column, press the Approve Access link. Be sure the Status changes to Enabled.

Note: If you have multiple ChannelAdvisor accounts, the Proifle ID must be added per channel. 

Go to Settings → Channels → Select the channel → Integrations. 

Enter the channel-specific Order ID Prefix.  

03 Where do I see data from ChannelAdvisor in eDesk?

  1. Open a ticket with an order attached.
  2. From within a ticket, select the ellipsis next to the order number, from the menu on the right of the screen.
  3. Click to Open in ChannelAdvisor

The product details will then pop up on the screen, allowing you to see all the data.

04 Collaborate better with ‘Internal Notes’

Internal notes in eDesk will be pulled into ChannelAdvisor, so you can streamline your communication process with updates on products, customer feedback, and any other relevant information.

The transfer of notes will speed up team workflow by removing the need to log into multiple databases to share knowledge resources.  Simply log into one interface, rather than doubling up on work. To find out more about this, click here.
